Principal's Message
Good afternoon Canby High School Students and Families!
We had a great wrap up to Homecoming Week, with a football win over Centennial and a well attended Homecoming Dance. Landon Sprague and Carlie Lewis were announced as Homecoming King and Queen during half time of the football game. Although the dance floor was a little hot and muggy, students had a great time! A big thanks to our students, leadership class, dance team, band, chaperones, and everyone else who worked together to make Homecoming Week memorable and fun.
A quick reminder that we don’t have school tomorrow, 10/14 or next Friday, 10/21. We have a Band concert on Tuesday, 10/18, and conferences are Wednesday, 10/19. See more information below. Teachers are looking forward to the chance to collaborate with families.
Looking ahead, we have picture retakes on October 24. Mark your calendars.
We have now hit the halfway mark of the trimester. It is a great time for students to check their grades, make up any missing assignments, and get help from teachers or our tutor labs if they need assistance. Our tutor labs (Math, Language Arts, and Science) are open from 8:00-4:30 each day and can provide extra support for students in all subject areas. Students should check them out in rooms 504, 404, and 202.
Progress Report grades will be available on ParentVue on Tuesday, 10/18. If you have ParentVue questions, please contact Lori Wujek at lori.wujek@canby.k12.or.us or 503-263-7219.
Have a wonderful week!
Best,
Cari Sloan

Attendance at CHS
To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our attendance process, please remember the following guidelines:
If your student needs to leave class for an appointment or because they are sick, inform the attendance office 30 MINUTES PRIOR to leave time. This will help us ensure that your student receives a note to leave class in a timely manner. Students will not be excused without a note.
Pre-excused absence forms need to be turned into the Attendance Secretary 24 hours PRIOR to leaving for the absence.
To report an absence, call our attendance line at 503-263-7210 or email chs-attendance@canby.k12.or.us.
Please report an absence as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after the absence.
Remember that attendance matters and students who attend class regularly are more likely to stay on track, graduate on time, learn deeply, and get the most from their high school experience.
