Weekly Update ~ January 13, 2020
Very Important Message from Dr. Lemon Regarding Morning Drop Off
Even if you are just parking in the lot, it is illegal to pass a stopped school bus when they are unloading and have their red lights flashing.
In addition, bus drivers can also report the license plate numbers of vehicles that illegally pass them to the police. Under state law, the vehicle's owner must tell authorities who was driving at the time of the infraction or face the charges themselves, according to the Illinois State Police.
Please help us keep everyone at Oak Grove safe!
Thank you for your cooperation.

Curriculum Corner
Hello Oak Grove Community,
With winter weather finally here and the long stretch until spring, you might be spending more time inside than usual. With multiple family members all having different movie preferences, it can be challenging to come to a consensus for family movie night. Recently, I read a blog post from Paula Kluth about a strategy that works in her house, “The Movie Jar”. She started by filling a plastic jar with 80 movies (4 family members x 20 movies each), one movie title on each card. Then they created family rules for the jar. For example: no technology, no complaining, and no leaving the room were my favorites. This strategy ensures that everyone has a fair chance at getting their preferred genre while still being exposed to other’s preferences. To see a visual and some of her movie selections visit Paula Kluth’s blog here and scroll down a bit. Enjoy your movie time!
