Screencasting to Improve Instruction
Screencast
What is Screencasting? Screencasting is taking a video of your computer screen, usually accompanied by audio. This creates a video of what took place on your computer screen and an explanation of what you were doing.
Quicktime
Quicktime is a Mac product that allows you to create screencast videos. The video format used in Quicktime works well for editing in iMovie. Watch a screencast on how to use Quick Time here.
Share Your Screencast Videos Using:
Drop Box
Dropbox can be used to share screencast videos online. Click here for a screencast on how to watch videos through Dropbox.
Google Drive
Google Drive can also be used to share screencast videos online. Check out how to upload and watch video in Google Drive.
Poll Everywhere
Poll Everywhere is a great way to generate real-time classroom feedback.
Mentimeter
Mentimeter is also an excellent resource to receive real-time feedback from students within your class.
Socrative
Socrative is a student response web tool, that will allow you to quiz and check for understanding. There is even a space race game the whole class can enjoy.
Collaboration Boards
Corkboard Me
Corkboard Me can be used to collaboratively list ideas and suggestions on post-it notes on an online cork board.
Padlet
Paper Rater
Paper Rater is a free, online tool that will check for plagiarism, analyze grammar, use of vocabulary words and word choice.
