Mission: The mission of the Rio Hondo Independent School District is to educate every student by creating an environment of high expectations, innovation, and strong partnerships.

It has been a great start so far. We have nothing but compliments for the entire staff. We have been very impressed with everyone’s attitude and effort. Please understand that we expect this effort day-in-and-day-out and we, as a staff, cannot settle for anything less. Trust that we are not naïve about any possible hiccups along the way but we must stay the course. We must do everything we can to protect our Vision... Academic Excellence and Success.

OUR HABITS WILL DICTATE OUR SUCCESS

• We are governed by taxpayers and entrusted by parents. We cannot misuse, misappropriate, or mishandle instructional time, property, funds, and/or students.
• Follow the chain of command. Give your department chairs and administration the opportunity to address issues. The main office should be the last resort.
• We need everyone to arrive on time.
• We need everyone attending their duty stations.
• Academic excellence and success should be everyone’s priority.
• Every child does count…for enrollment and academic success.
• We need lesson plans, grades, and attendance submitted on time.
• We are a team and we cannot afford to bring each other down.
• Adhere to FERPA guidelines. Do not breach confidentiality.
• Always follow District policy and teacher standards/ethics.
• Create positive/safe/engaging/learning environments.
• Lead by example! We will be more effective in addressing students when we ourselves are complying with District and Campus policies.
