Eastridge Elementary School August 18, 2019
Greeting Eastridge Families,
We are off to a great start! It has been a pleasure working with our students and I am very proud of what we have accomplished. Our staff and students are working extremely hard! Students are engaged in classroom learning and excited to be at school!
Please remember that students are to be in class each day by the 8:05am bell. Students are released to class at 7:55am and expected to be in their seats and ready to learn by 8:05am. Late arrivals impact student learning and often get the day off on the wrong foot. Thank you for ensuring that your students are at school and on time every day!
For those morning car riders, please remember that students are NOT to be released from their cars until our teachers are outside on the sidewalk and signal for you to release. We do not want students unsupervised as cars are pulling up or pulling away. I also ask that car rider procedures are followed accordingly both in the morning and in the afternoon. Please make sure to stay in the line and do not go around cars to advance in the line. I understand the line is lengthy; however, we ask for your patience to ensure that students are safe while getting into and out of their cars. Student safety is our priority!
This week marks the start of NWEA testing, an assessment your student will take three times this year in both reading and math. NWEA Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Assessments are adaptive reading and math computerized tests, which means the questions become simpler or more complex in response to how students respond. Administered in August, December and May, the assessments are designed to target students’ academic performance according to their current achievement level. These tests determine students’ instructional level and measure academic growth throughout the school year and from year to year in the areas of reading and math. We look forward to discussing student results at Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 1, 2019
Warmest regard,
Mrs. Johnson
Attendance Matters, Facts Matters, Information Matters
Being in school every day means your child won't miss out on learning. Try to schedule appointments and family trips outside of school hours. If he/she asks to stay home "just because," remind him/her of what they will miss, such as reading group, learning with friends, or PE class. Explain that he/she can be absent only if he/she is sick or if there's a family emergency.
Lunch Menu
VIEW MENU
Warren Township Schools, in partnership with Chartwells K12, publish breakfast and lunch menus through Nutrislice - an interactive website and a free smartphone app. Our school community can access our menus anywhere, anytime! Click here for the menus or download the menu Nutrislice app.
Parents and students at Chartwells districts across the country have access to descriptions, images, and nutrition and allergy information for all menu items. Our menus are also accessible on the web, mobile devices, tablets, and as a traditional PDF that can be printed and put on the fridge. We have developed our own portfolio of beautiful photos of our recipes and created exciting content and nutrition education that engages both students and parents!
Chartwells will provide reasonable modifications to students with medical needs/disabilities on a case-by-case basis with proper medical documentation from a physician or medical provider. Please contact Resident Dietitian, Haley Quade at 317-869-4441 for more information.
