Welcome to our new CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Parent/Carer Coffee Morning

Our next Coffee Morning will be held on Wednesday 31st May 2017 from 2.00pm to 3.00pm in the school library. Julie Thompson from Timely Advice will also be attending to provide careers advice to parents.

Drama Workshop

A group of Year 10 students took part in a Drama workshops which was arranged with Tresham College. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session and thank you to Tresham for facilitating this. Pictured are Joe, Alex and Cameron.

Good Luck Messages

All staff in the school wrote and were pictured with good luck messages for Year 11. Students were also pictured with messages about what they hoped for in the future.

Year 11 GCSE Countdown

We would like to wish all our Year 11 students the very best of luck in their exams which start next week. The students have worked incredibly hard and we are positive this hard work will be reflected on results day.


All students and parents will have received a copy of the exam timetable and for morning exams during the school break, breakfast will be provided at 8.00am. For afternoon exams a light lunch will be provided at 12.00pm.


Students must wear full school uniform for all exams. If you have any questions please contact the school at exams@corbytechnicalschool.org.


Mrs Ferns is holding a drop in Maths session on Tuesday 23rd May from 11.00am to 2.00pm. All Year 11 students are welcome to attend.

Stars of the Week

Students:


  • Miss Fenner has nominated Rhys 7C and Ana 7S for their citizenship skills and support at the start of the school day.
  • Mr Lee has nominated Patrick 8S for great participation and work in Maths.
  • Mrs Wagner-Lees has nominated Max 8C, Kellie 9C and Faye 10C for excellent vocabexpress in German.
  • Mr Cox has nominated the following students who completed a Drama workshop with staff from Tresham College, the event was a great success, Joe, Keali, Cameron, Alex and Milos 10T, Frederico and James 10S and Liam 10C.
  • Mr Cox has also nominated his Year 7 scientists for their hard work and dedication this term.
  • Mr Harley has nominated Alby 8T for his resilience in continuing to work hard and keep up to date with his practice work in Design and Technology despite having a broken wrist.
  • Miss Watt has nominated Krystian 11S and Jake 11C for their hard work and outstanding commitment in German. Miss Watt has also nominated Chloe 10S, Dominika 8S and Ellie 8T for excellent independent project work.


Staff:


  • Mrs Reynolds would like to thank all of the staff at Corby Technical School this term. The team as a whole work incredibly hard to ensure that our students, your children, are given the best possible chances in life. They are a team of dedicated professionals who continually strive for excellence in an education climate where the level of challenge is increasing year-on-year. I hope they are able to have some well-deserved rest during this May break.
  • Lewis 11S has nominated Mrs Ferns and Miss Connellan for their amazing support leading up to the exams.

Year 11 Assembly

Mrs Reynolds held a special assembly for Year 11 students ahead of the exams which begin on Monday. All staff completed good luck cards/messages to the students which they were presented with by their form tutors. Pictured are the students reading their messages.

Year 11 Geography Revision

As a final big push before their exam a week on Monday. Students were becoming experts in one of the physical units – and mapping out their knowledge using lots of different methods, styles and sources.
