As we move foward with reporting absences into Powerschool, we ask that all student absences be submitted through Powerschool. If there is no access to Powerschool, student absences can be reported directly to the office by phone call or email stps@eics.ab.ca

PowerSchool can also continue to be used to view grades and report cards, pay fees, and update student information (including medical information).

Please do not walk between the buses while they are lined up for drop off and pick up. This is an unsafe practice that could lead to a preventable injurgy. There are two cross walks located by the front entry way of the school.

Our Gr. 4 leaders are now providing crosswalk patrol in front of the school. We ask all parents and students use the crosswalk to ensure a safe crossing as we are trying to teach our students to navigate a crosswalk safely.

Insight is a group-administered test of cognitive abilities, which will be administered to all Grade 4 and 8 classes in EICS in the middle of November. The assessment is designed to measure cognitive abilities including reasoning, comprehension, memory, and visual/auditory processing. Students do not need to study for the Insight and the results do not impact their school grades. The results provide information about students’ cognitive strengths and areas of weakness to best support all learners. This year at St.Pat's we have implemented a School Behaviour Matrix. This matrix was created by students and staff at the end of last school year on how to use our school spaces appropriately and continue to make our school an AMAZING place to learn and grow!

School fees are now posted and can be paid on Powerschool. If you have any questions please contact the office.

Reminder to register for hot lunch!

Each year you have to register your child for hot lunch with their new teacher.

In the next few months as a school we will be practicing our Emergency Drills. This will include 3 practice fire drills, 1 practice lockdown and 1 shelter in place.

SCHOOL OFFICE HOURS

The office hours are: 8:00 - 3:30 during scheduled school days.

If calling during lunch time (12:00 - 12:30) please leave a message and Ms. Miller will return your call as soon as she can.

Remember to phone and book an appointment if you need to come into the school @ 780-672-2177. To report an absense call the school office or email stps@eics.ab.ca

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Parents wanting to volunteer at the school or for field trips need to have a Criminal Record Check, Child Intervention Check and sign a Volunteer Confidentiality Undertaking form.

Request forms for these can be picked up at the school office. If you are unsure if you have these documents already completed you can call the office and we can check. These checks can take a while to process so if you are wanting to volunteer please get these done ASAP.

END OF DAY PHONE MESSAGES TO STUDENTS

If you have a message to pass onto your child for end of day arrangements please call the school office no later than 3:10 pm. It is very difficult to track down a child once they have left the classroom at the end of the school day.
