Jazmyn Hall - Culinary & Hospitality Academy Graduate
My name is Jazmyn Hall, and I am a 2021 graduate of the Culinary & Hospitality Academy. Ever since I was little, I have loved to cook. I used to pretend that I was cooking my after-school snacks on a TV show or for YouTube, but what I love most is to feed others. I have had a passion for culinary for as long as I can remember, although it wasn’t until I began attending RC3 that I fully realized that cooking is what I want to do with my life. At RC3 I was given the ability to learn about the kitchen and how they flow as well as an introduction to ingredients. RC3 gave me a wonderful opportunity to find interest in continuing my education at The Culinary Institute of America as a culinary student majoring in Applied Food Studies; A bachelor’s program involving food and culture, sustainability, and writing. So far, I have had the opportunity to cook in many different styles and many different cuisines from around the world as well as take the opportunity to travel a bit. For one semester, I was given the opportunity to work for Nestle Professional in Cleveland, Ohio working with their Food Innovation Team. Our role was to cook for internal events, build social media content for brands, national level food shows, and assist in guest interactions to present the full scope of product capabilities. The following semester I was given the opportunity of being group leader; a role in which I acted as the liaison between my instructors and my class and worked to help my class be successful in their studies. I have also had the honor of being chosen as a student ambassador for the CIA Leadership Awards two years consecutively, a “night of networking” in which members of the culinary community that are alumni are recognized for their work. Now, I am finishing up my last year on the campus and plan to work in the restaurant industry for some time before returning to Nestle Professional as a corporate chef on their team.
My ultimate goal is to work for Nestle Professional for a while, then possibly return to school, and eventually teach high school culinary education.
