Hello E.O. Green Community,

Your student took a copy of the Progress Report for mid-trimester grade marks this last Friday, October 8, 2021. The current pandemic circumstances are difficult for everyone. So, please remember this as you review your students' grades and have a conversation about it. Try to focus on the small and significant accomplishments and celebrate them. If your student scored below your expectations, please remind them that they need to complete all work assigned by teachers and submit them to receive a grade. Support your student to establish a study plan to improve grade marks. Find a quiet area to complete the homework and motivate your student to daily work at the same location and same time for a productive daily routine. Then, students have time to push those grades up. The final grade marks go home on November 19, 2021.

We have excellent teaching staff, superb counseling, and an admin team ready to support your students in achieving grade-level standards. Please view below the name of your child's counselor assigned based on last name alphabetically and reach out if you need assistance with your student.

The school is closed tomorrow, October 11, 2021 due to professional development for staff. Friendly reminder that October 22, 2021, will be a minimum day, dismissal at 1:00 pm. Please make arrangements accordingly for student pickup.

We invite your students to continue to access online reading books on SORA. All book titles are free for check out. Your student may check out two books each time.

EO Green ASB is sponsoring a night at Skating Plus this Friday from 7-9:30. Entry is $11.00 plus skate rental if needed ($3.25 for roller skates).. Masks are required while in the building except while eating and drinking in the designated areas.

Parents don't have to pay for admission if they choose to stay.

Each October, National Principals Month recognizes the essential role that principals play in making a school great. Hueneme ESD is fortunate to have a team of fantastic school site leaders. Like many, our principals have faced tremendous challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they have worked tirelessly to serve students in our school district. This month is one way of honoring and thanking them for all their hard work. Thank you awesome principals and assistant principals!

Testing is available to all HESD staff and students ONLY. The testing site is paid through special state grant funds, therefore it is NOT available to the public, including staff and student family members who are not associated with the District.

ENGLISH SPANISH

There are two testing locations:

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Blackstock Junior High School, 701 E. Bard Road

Tuesdays and Thursdays: Haycox Elementary School, 5400 Perkins Road

Testing hours are10:00-4:00 at each location. Both testing sites are walk-up only, no appointments necessary.
