Celebrate the New Edison Elementary School Building on October 25
We can’t thank you enough, but we can thank you again! Please join us to celebrate the grand opening of the new Edison Elementary School building on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 5:30–7 p.m.
This fall students launched into the new school year in their modern, light-filled and new building. Now it’s time to open the doors and showcase the new school building to the whole community, including the bond voters who made it possible.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m. with brief remarks from school leaders and local officials, plus a student performance. Community members can drop in to take an architect-led or self-guided tour of the school and explore its innovative indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
We can't wait to see you there!

Student Reps Sought to Serve on 4J School Board
The 4J school board believes that hearing from students is a critical component to quality decision-making as they lead and set the direction for the school district. To gain that perspective, the board is seeking student representatives to serve on the school board.
All 4J high school students are eligible to apply.
The school board meets regularly (normally twice a month on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.), and student representatives will be asked to attend each meeting to ensure student voice is included in each meeting. 2022–23 4J school board meeting schedule: 4j.lane.edu/board/meetings/#meetings
Thank a Principal!
October is National Principals Month. Let's give a shout-out to 4J's incredibly dedicated, hard-working and caring team of principals and assistant principals who create a safe and productive learning environment where educators can teach and students can learn.
Please take a moment to recognize a principal or assistant who has made an impact on you, your student or your family. Fill out the online form to create a certificate of appreciation that we will deliver to them.
Thank you for taking the time to recognize a valued and hard-working school principal or assistant principal!
Watch New Schools Rise—From the Air
Neighbors of the Camas Ridge Elementary School and North Eugene High School construction sites have been getting an up-close look at the building of the schools. Now the public can get a closer glimpse of the construction from a different angle. Aerial cameras installed at the construction sites show progress with time-lapse photos that refresh every 12 minutes.
Watch construction of the new Camas Ridge Elementary School building until its opening in fall 2024!
Watch the rise of North Eugene High School building, opening in fall 2023, from up high!

⭐🍎 Meet Kirsten 🍎⭐
Educational Assistant at Edison Elementary School
"My hope each day is to make a difference. May it be helping a student tie their shoe to be safe on the playground or helping our students learn to write their name and learn to read. Small pieces lead to big change. And I love being part of an amazing team of educators and staff that truly care about our students in so many ways!"
