Annual School Election


Please vote tomorrow May 18. Passage means a NEW CENTRAL JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, SOUTHWEST JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, and UPGRADES TO SPRINGDALE HIGH SCHOOL.


In order to take advantage of historically low-interest rates, the Springdale School District is asking patrons to approve the refinancing of existing debt and the extension of the current millage rate at its annual school election on May 18, 2021. This will allow the District to finance new classrooms and facilities at Central Junior High, Southwest Junior High and Springdale High School. The total estimated cost of these projects is $125 million. The State of Arkansas has committed to pay $35 million toward the cost of these projects with the condition that the school district fund the remaining balance of $90 million. If the District is unable to fund the $90 million, then the $35 million from the State will be forfeited.
