Parent/Student Future Ready Presentation- Special Scheduling Options & Information for Juniors
Beyond the "Norm" High School Courses & Juniors: Being Future Ready
Monday, January 8th at 6:45 pm in the PHS Auditorium
The PHS counselors will be presenting on the many special scheduling options available to students throughout their high school career as well as specifics for juniors regarding being Future Ready including information on the new UW Direct Admit programs. While most of the special options are open to juniors or seniors we invite parents of all grade levels to come and learn about these opportunities. Programs discussed will include: Dual Enrollment Academy, Early College Credit Program, Start College Now, Excelerate, G.A. Larson work based learning, Co-Op, CCIHS courses, the WCTC Liberal Arts Transfer Program and more!

2024-2025 Course Request Information
2024-2025 Course Request/Scheduling Information
All 9th-11th grade students received information about choosing courses for next school year. Parents were also sent this information via email. This information is also available on the PHS Student Services-Scheduling website. On the website you will find the updated Program of Studies Course Description Guide, scheduling sheets, Insight specific scheduling sheets, the scheduling presentation videos which students viewed in homeroom on 12/14, the informational slideshow and directions on choosing courses in Skyward.
Skyward opens for entering requests on January 8th and closes on the 25th. Counselors will meet with current PHS students on January 25th, 26th or 29th to look over the course requests to ensure that students have requested courses that they need. Students should see their counselor asap with any questions. Appointments can be made using the specific calendar link sent to students via email on 12/14.
Summer Certified Nursing Assistant Course Offering & Youth Apprenticship
The WCTC Nursing Assistant office is offering 3 summer CNA course sections for students interested in obtaining their Nursing Assistant certification AND working as a CNA through Youth Apprenticeship during the '24-25 school year. Below are the general dates for those three sessions. Students much attend every class and skill day:
- Class 1 - Mon-Thurs - PEWAUKEE CAMPUS (Hybrid)
- June 24 – July 17, 2024
- Class 2 - Mon-Thurs – PEWAUKEE CAMPUS (Hybrid)
- July 18 – August 8, 2024
- Class 3 - Mon-Fri - PEWAUKEE CAMPUS (Hybrid)
- August 12 – August 30, 2024
Interested students MUST attend one of the two information sessions being offered in January and February to be considered for this opportunity. Check out the Informational Flyer with meeting date information. Meeting options are: January 22nd and February 6th at 5:30 pm.
WCTC Dual Enrollment Academy
Come take a closer look during an upcoming Dual Enrollment Academy (DEA) Info Night! Recommended for parents and students in grade 11, this information session will give you a taste of what DEA is all about and cover the steps and deadlines to get started next fall. Our friendly staff will be on hand to answer questions and help you get started. Faculty and student representitives from each area will also share experiences and expectations. Come discover how the Dual Enrollment Academy can help students succeed.

A reminder for seniors that now is a great time to be looking at the Scholarship spreadsheet. Applications are starting to heat up!
Junior Confences
It's almost time for Junior Conferences! Counselors will schedule the meetings and those times are communicated to students and families via email in advance. Meetings start in mid/late February through April. If you feel that you need to meet earlier you can reach out to your students' counselor.
March ACT for Juniors
Counselors will be meeting with all juniors (in their physics class) a few weeks prior to the March 12th test date in order to get their ACT accounts set up prior to testing. More details to come on this as we get closer to the State testing date. Students can certainly create this ahead of time on their own but it is not neessary.
All juniors will have in-school test prep sessions after the start of second semester. More information to come on these resource prep sessions.

In School Community Therapy Options
Pewaukee School District works with three local agencies to provide in bulding Mental Health services. Various insurance companies are accepted. Families should reach out to the contacts indicated on the form to connect your student with a therpist.
ARC (Formerly Your Choice)- Sessions on various topics that parents may find useful. Topics include resiliency, drugs, alcohol, vaping and screen addiction
College Goal WI- Assistance with completing the FAFSA (seniors) All virtual event this year
Healing Hearts- For over a decade Healing Hearts has delivered compassion, care, and connection for children and families grieving a loss from death, divorce, abandonment, overdose, incarceration, military deployment, and deportation.
Healing Hearts expanded its Children’s Grief Group programs to provide greater access for families in Southeast Wisconsin.
The winter sessions of Healing Hearts will be starting soon.
We have three locations this year.
Oconomowoc, Waukesha and Menomonee Falls Pick one or more that work for you!
Children will find care, support, and healing through age-based peer support groups while parents/guardians participate in a peer support group specifically for them.
