School Holidays
School will dismiss at the regular time (3:40) on Friday, November 18. Students will be out from that point through November 27. School will resume on Monday, November 28 at 8 AM.
There will be no parent newsletter on November 25.

School Safety - StayALERT
School safety is always an important part of the BMS educational setting. Blanco MS and Blanco ISD have partnered with Stay Alert to provide an avenue for students, parents, teachers, and community members to report issues related to school safety. If you are aware of an incident, situation, activity, etc. that needs to be reported to school officials, please utilize one of the Stay Alert program avenues to report it. Those reporting can choose to remain anonymous.

Veteran's Day Program
The Blanco Middle School Student Council participated in the Blanco ISD Veteran's Day program on Friday, November 11. The student council members presented information about each of the 5 branches of the armed forces (Marines, Air Force, Army, Navy, and Coast Guard). The HS band and Elementary choir students played and sang the hymns of each branch during the program. Council Members Jonathan Hernandez, Brooklyn Plahy, Cadence DeLaRosa, Corrine Unterbrink, Elias Alegria spoke about each branch of the armed forces. Council Member Jake Snow gave a history of TAPS before HS trumpet player Ricky Palacios played it. Council Members Natalie Cabrera, Madyxx West, Avery Smith, Coby Creswell, Ryan Lovalvo, Cambel Plahy, Caden Wood, Zane Hood, and CJ Kuzins attended and presented the veterans with "Thank You" gifts on behalf of the BMS Student Council. Veronica Hernandez is the BMS Student Council Sponsor and also was instrumental is helping to plan and coordinate the Veterans Day Program.

Food Drive
The BMS Student Council and NJHS helped sponsor a food drive for BMS families. BMS students donated over 360 items to the food drive. GVTC will pick the food items up next week to distribute to families within Blanco County. Thank you to our students and parents for donating to the food drive. The 8th grade collected the most food and were treated to a root beer float party sponsored by NJHS. Thank you to Ms. Preiss, Ms. Hernandez, and Ms. Meier for suggesting the project and doing all of the leg work to make it happen once it was approved. Thank you to Ms. Batey and Ms. Tesch for helping with food donations that were brought to the front office.
Classroom News
Ecology
Ecology students take a photo opportunity with their garden plants - before the weather turned cold. Pam Meier is the Ecology teacher.
7th Grade Science
The circulatory system has been the topic of study in 7th grade science. Students were able to dissect deer hearts (donated by Mr. Clayton Green) to see the chambers and other parts of the heart on an actual specimen instead of a drawing or video. Pam Meier is the science teacher for 7th grade.
Girls Basketball News
The BMS Girls Basketball teams hosted Llano on Monday, November 14. The 7th Grade A team won a close game. The 8th Grade A, 8th Grade B, and 7th Grade B teams played hard but lost their games.

There are no games next week due to the Thanksgiving Break. The next game will be Monday, November 28 at Ingram.
Boys Basketball News
The BMS Boys Basketball teams travelled to Llano on Monday, November 14. The 7th Grade A, 7th Grade B, and 8th Grade B teams won. The 8th Grade A team came up short in their contest. There are no games over the Thanksgiving Break. The next game will be Monday, November 28 at home against Ingram.

SHOUT OUTS!
BMS teachers, staff, and students provide shout outs to those who have gone above and beyond, provided help to another person, been a good citizen, accomplished a task/goal, won an athletic contest, participated in an activity or competition, or just need recognition for doing something nice, etc. These are our SHOUT OUTS for the week:
