Thank you to our children and those who work with them for the song you shared with us yesterday morning. Thank you to our deacons for blessing our kids with the sacks of candy. Thank you to those who sang in the adult choir - it was good to hear your voices in harmony. Thank you to our Finance Committee for preparing the 2024 Budget and to our Nominating Committee for enlisting people to serve on our 2024 Committees. Thank you congregation for filling the room with your voices yesterday and then sticking around for the Business Meeting. We had a good morning together!
Next Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. will be our Silent Lord’s Supper. If you are new to EBC, this is a time to gather with your family and/or other believers to observe the Lord’s Supper. It is a “come and go” event in the EBC Worship Center. Show up anytime between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. There will be an instruction sheet to guide you through a time of reflection and worship. After working through the sheet, you can go to the front to receive the Lord’s Supper served by our Deacons.
We wrapped up our Sunday Night Seminary class last night. Those who have been attending gave high marks to the course and indicated that they are looking forward to doing another one. My plan is to start Old Testament 1 on Sunday night January 28. This course is titled, “Israel’s Story in Jesus’ Bible”, and it covers the first half of the OT - primarily the law and history books. I hope you’ll join us in January to grow in your understanding of how the OT points us to Jesus.
