The FAST Flyer

Our annual curriculum night will be held on Thursday, August 31 from 5:30pm-7:30pm in person at FAST. This is the opportunity for parents to find out more about their student's teachers, their courses, and set expectations for the year. We hope to see you there!

If you haven't already checked out all of the after school clubs we have to offer, it's not too late! You can find which clubs are offered on which days on our website. All clubs will begin the week of August 28.

Please be sure that you are sending lunch (and snack if appropriate) for your student each day unless you have ordered their lunch through Ordo. There is no kitchen at FAST. Students' lunches must be ready-to-eat. We cannot refrigerate or microwave lunches that are brought from home. If you would like to order lunch for your student, you must place the order online at order.com by 11:59pm on Friday for the following week.

We also ask that you not send peanut butter sandwiches or any other type of nut product for lunch or snack. We are a nut free school for the safety of our students with food allergies.

Carpool this year has been flowing very well. Most parents are back in the routine and our new parents have learned to navigate the process. It is critical that all parents follow all of the carpool rules and staff directions for the safety of students and staff as well as to prevent traffic jams in the neighborhoods surrounding the school.

• No one should be turning left out of the parking lot during morning or afternoon carpool (whether or not the sign is there.)
• In order to avoid traffic back up on Crabapple due to overflow, we need to maximize the number of cars in the carpool queue. Please do not leave space between your car and the car in front of you.
• When your lane is moving, please keep moving until you are told to stop.
• Please refrain from texting or otherwise handling your phone while driving.
• Students should only exit/enter cars from the passenger side to prevent them from walking between cars.
• If you have a FAST pass, please be sure it is displayed in your window for staff to see.

As a reminder, students are expected to be in their homeroom by 7:40am each day. If your student misses school, please send the absence excuse to attendance@fastk8.org

FAST is a uniform school. All students should be in full uniform every day. That includes - no hoodies, no athletic shorts, no leggings, no athletic wear, no jeans, and no crocs. If your student was admitted to FAST near the start of school and you have not yet received the uniforms you ordered, you may send them in a plain polo of the appropriate color and khaki or navy bottoms (black also allowed for middle school). If your student finds the classrooms chilly, they may wear a FAST sweater, FAST fleece, or FAST hoodie (middle school only). They should not be wearing any other outerwear in the building. Our full uniform policy can be found on our website. We appreciate your help in ensuring your student is in uniform when they arrive at school.

Friday, August 25 will be an out-of-uniform day. Students will not have to wear a uniform on that day, but they are still expected to dress appropriately for school.

It is only the second week of school and we are already seeing a number of students being sent home sick. If your child is not feeling well, please do not send them to school. Students should be fever free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours before returning to school.
