Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,

Happy Friday! We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, after the holiday.

We are still in our enrollment push. We have around 40 families who have either not re-enrolled or have not informed the main office of plans to not return in the fall. This being stated, we will extend additional waitlist offers, as we wait to hear from our current families.

For families who have enrolled for next school year, please be sure to review the special newsletter that was shared earlier today.

Families who are fully enrolled for next school year received a stand alone newsletter from us with information for next school year. If you did not receive it but believe your child should be enrolled, please reach out to the main office at your earliest convenience so that it can be fixed. You can email hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov or call 202-282-0170. If you still need to enroll, click here or if you plan to attend another school in the fall let us know you don't plan to return.

Here at Hyde, we are going to show our support for Pride! Hyde-Addison Pride week will be Monday, June 5- Friday June 9th. Students and staff may support by wearing the colors of the rainbow every day of next week.

Monday, June 5- Pink/Red

Tuesday, June 6- Orange/Yellow

Wednesday, June 7- Green/Blue

Thursday, June 8 -Purple

Friday, June 9 Rainbow (wear them all).

The elections for parents/guardians to serve on the Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) for school year 2022-23 are now open. Elections will be open through June 16 and the results will be shared in the newsletter on June 23. Vote for up to 4 candidates. Ballots with more than 4 candidates selected will not be counted. VOTE HERE!

As we prepare to launch into school year 2023-24, we would like to invite new and returning families to join us for the engagement opportunities outlined below. Together, we will share important information, ask questions, and build connections as a school community.

In order for the school team to ensure the safety of students during dismissal processes, the policy is that Parents/Guardians arrive at the main entrance of the school building before 2:50pm if they need to pick up their child for early dismissal. This provides enough time for our staff to communicate, for students to gather their belongings, and for us to supervise them safely exiting with the appropriate adult before we prepare to do the same for the general dismissal students, who begin transitioning shortly thereafter.

No student will be allowed to leave school alone or with a sibling until the DCPS self-dismissal form has been signed and returned to the main office or emailed to hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov. Please note that PreK3 and PreK4 students are not eligible. Please contact hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov with any questions.

If you would like a Kids Ride Free Card for your student, please fill out this short form. They will be sent home in students' backpacks on Mondays.

We invite families of Hyde-Addison Elementary School to cast your vote for nine officer positions for the 2023-24 school year at https://forms.gle/2gECWgAAnmQYP13m7. A few positions are still open and we'd love to see additional nominations before voting ends on May 29. You can view candidate statements and descriptions for the open positions at the top of the ballot form.

So good we're doing it twice! The Hyde-Addison PTA is bringing back a 4-day DoubleGood Gourmet Popcorn sale from Monday, June 5 @ 12pm - Friday, June 9 @ 12pm! - just in time for the end of the school year and graduation gifts. It's also the perfect snack for summer vacation!

As with our sale in the Fall, our sales goal is $10,000 with 50% of all sales coming to the PTA! Sign up to sell popcorn today by downloading the DoubleGood app, entering our event code: ZXZ YBZ, and then setting up your online store. Popcorn ships directly to the buyer!
