Student Self-Dismissal- A New DCPS Policy
Beginning on January 3, 2023, all students in grades Kindergarten through 5 must have a signed permission form on file in order to walk or take public transportation home alone or with a sibling. No student will be allowed to leave school alone or with a sibling until the attached form has been signed and returned to the main office or emailed to hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov. Student Success Showcase - Thank you and help us meet our match!
The PTA has been fundraising for the school nonstop all year and we want to thank you all for participating over and over again!! Whether you bought supplies through the back to school drive in August, donated to the Great Envelope Race, ordered Hyde swag, contributed or volunteered at Fall Fest, bought/sold popcorn, solicited or contributed items to one of our silent auctions, or made purchases through Amazon Smile, your support has made a tremendous difference. Thank you!
At the Student Success Showcase earlier this week we raised $3,932 of our 30-day goal to match the $10,000 Standing Ovation award for “building bridges” to students who might not otherwise have such great learning opportunities. If you’d still like to make a tax-deductible donation toward the effort, here’s the link: https://app.moonclerk.com/pay/7h90b4g445wa.

Free Camp for Children Experiencing Grief
What is Experience Camps for Grieving Children?
Experience Camps, founded in 2009, is a national, no-cost program for grieving children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. Our free one-week, overnight summer camps combine the best elements of summer camp with a clinically-informed peer support model that normalizes grief, builds coping skills and resiliency, and allows kids to connect with other kids who “get it”.
