Teachers, parents, and students across Illinois have an opportunity to participate in the annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of District 123 schools.
During the month of February, Sward Eagles felt much love and friendship. The students participated in friendship parties on the afternoon of February 14th. Lots of laughs and smiles during the fun games. Students enjoyed the engaging crafts and delicious snacks. Our wonderful PTA and numerous volunteers made the day so special for students.

Covington is celebrating KINDness week this week with fun activities and themed days! As part of our year long emphasis on fostering a positive school environment we have been participating in random acts of kindness throughout the week. Students recieved a special challenge each day that revolves around kindness!

Along with many themed days, classrooms around Hannum completed kindness challenges. All of the first grade teachers challenged their students to complete 100 acts of kindness.
Two years ago, when there was still so much unknown about covid, students were not allowed to pass out valentines. Through this somewhat sad event, a great tradition began! Kolmar teachers took to technology to make sure everyone still felt the love on Valentine's Day, and now it has become a Valentine's Day tradition in 2nd grade!
VIEW 2023-24 CALENDAR During the January 23rd Board of Education meeting, the 2023-2024 D123 academic school calendar was approved. Some highlights from the calendar include: The school year will start with two days of staff institutes; August 21 and 22. The first day of student attendance will be Wednesday, August 23rd and will be a half day from 8:30-11:30 am.
