Teacher Appreciation

I am so grateful to work with a team of teachers that was able to take everything that was planned for the year and throw it out the window and start from scratch in a moment's notice. Your dedication to our students is evident in the hours that you put in redesigning courses, supporting colleagues and reaching out to students and families. What we have been asked to do in the last couple of months has been daunting, but you were able to tackle it!

Thank you for all that you do for our Students. We appreciate all of the hard work and long hours. Unfortunately, we are not able to celebrate you in the same ways that we have in the past. Please know that we do plan to celebrate you once we are able to safely be together again.

One of my "gifts" to you will be to limit our building meetings this week to just 1 short staff meeting on Thursday. I promise no surprise grade level or department meetings this week!

Updates

Our first 2 week cycle is complete!! We have learned a lot and have adjusted in more ways than we can count. I know that it is easy to get caught up in the number of students that are not logging into classes or completing your class work.

Here is the great news, 91% of our students are logging in and engaged.

By grade level

6th - 80%

7th - 93%

8th - 94%

That does not mean that they are all completing all of the work in all of our classes, but that does mean that we are reaching 91% of our kids.

If you have a student that is logging in and working for you, but you notice that they have not completed another subject area, help your co-workers out and encourage them to work on their other classes as well. Celeste and I have a game plan to tackle those students that are not engaged to see what we can do to help. Remember some of these students have stress happening in their homes, we will continue to support them the best that we can.

Packets are expected to come back in by Monday afternoon. I will go into the office and get that information to you.
