Our School Family Agreements
At Wells Elementary School, we have spent our first quarter making connections with our staff and students. The students practice and review our school procedures and expectations daily. These expectations are called our "Wildcat Family Agreements", pictured to the right. All of our students have committed to following our 3 B's of Wells. The 3 B's found in our Family Agreements are to BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE. Please encourage your student to follow our Wildcat Family Agreements each and every day.
In addition to committing to our family agreements we have also been working on strategies to help our students learn skills to stay calm or get calm when they experience hard situations. Check out this video below to view some of our breathing techniques we use inside and outside of the classrooms to assist students in being successful at school and at home.

Building Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Goal
We are excited to share that we have been working on two Social Emotional Learning goals building-wide. Social–emotional learning is an educational method that aims to foster social and emotional skills within the school setting.
Our first goal is to create a bulletin board pumpkin patch. The pumpkins are created when students, as a class, follow directions the very first time they are given. When they do this, they are acknowledged and are able to color in a portion of their pumpkin with the goal of completing a pumpkin as soon as possible. It takes 10 sections to complete a pumpkin (10 times of following directions as a class). Our goal is to have 30 complete pumpkins on our board by October 20th. We will celebrate building-wide when we accomplish our goal.
Our second goal that we are working on is fostering more kindess in our building. We as a staff are intentionally looking to recognize acts of kindness, and encouraging students to recognize, acknowledge, and demonstrate acts of kindness. Please help us reach our goal of increasing kindness by discussing the topic of kindness and how to show kindness to others with your students.
