Are you looking for more effective ways to support upper elementary and secondary students?

If so, please join our community of practice focused on student-centered learning!

We will meet monthly during the school year to deepen understanding and implementation of the 4-5 Literacy Essentials and 6-12 Disciplinary Learning Essentials (DLEs) in culturally responsive and sustaining ways across content areas. In this network, teachers will engage in shared learning on building equity-driven, justice-seeking, identity-affirming classrooms through disciplinary literacy and have opportunities to develop partnerships across Wayne County to strengthen an equitable approach to disciplinary literacy instruction. Participants will meet virtually for 90 minutes once a month with opportunities for two longer in-person sessions in August and May to kick off and bring closure to our learning. This course is open to teachers, coaches and literacy leaders, curriculum directors, and administrators in Grades 4-12 across content areas.
