The Crossing
December 2019
Principal's Message
Toward the end of November, our students participated in our first whole-school meeting, where they learned about the rules that were created by our Brooks Crossing students. After our whole-school meeting, our students participated in their first official buddy class activities. During this activity, they got to know each other, listened to a story, and wrote about things they are grateful for. It was heart-warming to see our older students taking care of their younger buddies. We will hang their finished products throughout our schools.
As we move toward winter break, we look forward to our annual December Event, as well as winter parties.
I wish you an enjoyable, safe winter break. Enjoy time with family and friends!
Warm Regards,
Jaime Maccarone

Brooks Crossing Announces Winner of Heroes and Helpers
This year marks the 6th Annual Heroes and Helpers Event, sponsored by the South Brunswick Police Department. The program accepts nominations and selects a student from each school to be recognized for their outstanding work and character. They are the students who we are proud to represent our schools and are upstanding role models for others.
This year we recognize third grader Lily, from Mrs. Bigelow's class, as the winner of Brooks Crossing School's Heroes and Helpers! Selected from almost 580 students, Lily displays the character and outstanding community spirit to represent Brooks Crossing and our community as a true Hero and Helper! She was awarded a shopping spree at the Target of South Brunswick, and was accompanied by a South Brunswick police officer who assisted as her personal shopper. CONGRATULATIONS LILY!!
Brooks Crossing Students Celebrated Veterans Month
Thank you to everyone's generous donations for our students to make personal care packages for our veterans last month! This gave our students an opportunity to thank many of our veterans for their service in honor of veterans month. Over #120 gift bags were handed out to James J Peters VA Inpatients and Resilience & Wellness Program veterans.
