Mrs. Jones
School Social Worker
Hello, Families!
As this quarantine continues, we are all being asked to do things that we've never experienced before. This can bring us a variety of feelings, which may be intimidating at times. These challenges are sure to bring stress to all of us: parents, students, and teachers. Please go easy on yourself, and be as patient with yourself as you would be with a friend going through a difficult time. Try to find activities or exercises that will help relax your body and your mind. Your mental health, and the mental health of your children, is especially important right now. Please know that you can reach out to me with any concerns. I am thinking of you all and miss you!
Locus Of Control
Remember to focus only on what you can control. While it is difficult, it will be a great benefit to you.
Some Things To Look for In Your Child
Sometimes sadness is masked in different emotions: it is important to be aware of how your child is presenting and what it might mean.
A Search For Gratitude
This is a great grounding exercise. We are especially in need of reminders for gratitude now!
Ways To Stay Connected
Please remember that social distancing doesn't have to mean that you have to be socially isolated. Connections with family, friends, and community members are more important than ever right now. Ways to stay connected include phone calls, texting, video chatting, online gaming, emails, writing letters, or drawing pictures. Maintaining strong relationships with others is a priority for our children and ourselves, especially during these challenging times.
