3rd Grade Science with Mrs. Fields
Hello 3rd Grade Scientists!
Last week: We learned about temporary magnets and played a fun Kahoot! game reviewing magnets. Here are the links for the online magnet games :-)
https://www.brainpop.com/games/magnethunt/
https://sciencewiz.com/portals/magnetism/
Learning Points to Remember: All magnets have a north and south pole. North repels north/ south repels south. North attracts south. Our Earth's magnetic field is what attracts the compass needle and helps us find directions. Temporary magnets can be made by rubbing one side of a magnet in the same direction on a piece of iron.
Next week: We will be starting on Unit 12, States of Matter. Everything in our world is made a matter! We will be exploring how different types of matter interact with our world.
Announcement: Some of you have asked how to upload files and share them with me through the OLS. It makes turning in KWL's easy! Here is the link for how to file share :-)

Extra Credit: Some students asked if they could do the solar system project for extra credit. You are cleared for take off! If you create a model of the solar system in which the planets are in the correct order next to the sun I will add a 5 point grade as extra credit. This is an OPTIONAL activity! Email me pictures of your project or upload them into the OLS.
I will accept this project at any point throughout the remainder of the year.
