CFF NEWSLETTER
January 31, 2022
Dear Community Families,
Hi Community Families -
It's hard to believe February is here! Hope everyone had a great Winter Break and a smooth transition back to campus in 2022!
We had hoped this new semester would bring some normalcy back to school and for CFF to continue support with CMCS traditions of Sweethearts Dance, Grandparents Day and Pump It Up. Looks like we will need to be a bit more patient. We are very appreciative of the District's guidance of safe return to school and continue weekly testing through February, please know that CFF would like to bring all our events back for our children when it is safe and continue to build our community.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our next Member Meeting on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 5 pm via Zoom (link to join provided below). Come to hear about what's happening at CFF, our financial update and everything we hope to do during the next few months. This is also an opportunity for you to hear from your Grade Level Directors.
Thank you to all AM Check In/Valet Support Volunteers during the 1st semester, your support was very much appreciated and ensures our morning arrivals go smoothly! We are counting on all of you (especially valet families) to continue our grade level rotation of volunteers throughout the semester. Please do your part!

Sincerely,
Kate Harrington & Stefania Willens

DAILY AM Check In/Valet Support VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
There is no other volunteer opportunity more fulfilling than helping our kids stay safe! If we do not have more parents volunteer, we will no longer be able to provide valet as an option. We are now asking that you volunteer even if it is not for your child's grade.
Here is simple breakdown of items needed:
1. Upload a photo of vaccination card to your Daily Pass
2. Complete, Print, Sign and bring to school - LAUSD Volunteer Commitment form
3. Complete, Print, Sign and bring to school - LAUSD Volunteer Application Form
4. Take a COVID test and have your negative results upload to Daily Pass
You will need a negative COVID test before you are allowed to volunteer. If it is from an external (Non-LAUSD) site or a rapid home test, you must upload the result to your DailyPass. You can also schedule a test at any LAUSD site providing tests through DailyPass. If you plan on taking the test at CMCS and it is your first time at an LAUSD site, go to DailyPass and make an appointment at any LAUSD location (this way your information will be in the system when you arrive to take your test at CMCS on a testing day).

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES!
We have a great opportunity coming up for PUMP IT UP - We are looking for parents to Chair or Co-Chair the event along with Committee Members to support the planning and the day of event. Since we have not been able to come together in person, this is also a great way to meet other parents.
Nominations & Elections
CFF elections are coming up May 9-15 and nominations open April 18-24. As we have many parents graduating, we need to fill numerous positions or to serve as co-officers on the Board, as well as looking for new committee chairs. This is great time to start thinking about how you might like to get involved!
Directions for how to nominate yourself or someone will go out in March, but if you are interested in learning more about a position, talking with a current Board Member about their job, shadowing a Board Member, or just want to learn more about what is involved, please email cff@welovecmcs.org or Learn more about the positions and eligibility requirements.
Also, an election ballot will be sent to the email of each parent/guardian, teacher, staff member registered in Fresh Schools. If your spouse/partner is not registered, but you want them to be able to vote, then please be sure to register them in FreshSchools BEFORE the election begins!
