ITSO Badging Program
Badges, Levels, and Descriptions
Spring 2024 Update
New Level 1 modules are coming! In March 2024, the badging program will undergo some renovation. Most Level 1 modules will either be replaced or updated, and the Course Design module that is currently in Level 2 will be updated and moved into Level 1.
Also as a reminder, although called a badging program we are continuing to issue digital certificates at this time. The UHCC System is developing a systemwide policy to govern microcredentials (including badging). Rest assured that the completion of badge modules and the level 1/level 2 certifications will continue to be recognized and we continue to update the Badge Earner website. We hope to resume awarding badges once they finalize their policy and procedures, and we can obtain the necessary approvals.
The Instructional Technology Support Office (ITSO) issues digital badges via Credly's Acclaim platform as evidence that earners have participated in and completed specific criteria for ITSO professional development. Badges can be earned individually for specific topics/skills and/or collected to earn a Level badge.

- Laulima Organizational Tools
- Laulima Communication Tools
- Laulima Course Info Tools
- Laulima Activity Tools
- Laulima Testing Tools
- Laulima Content Tools
- Course Starter
*Course Starter has been moved to Level 1
Level 2 attainment is the equivalent of completing Phase 1 (6-week online class) of the former Online Course Development Program (OCDP).
Technology Tool (Toolbox) Badges
Toolbox modules provide an introduction to various technology tools that can deepen student learning by supporting instructional objectives. These tools were selected because they are no or low cost, and are easy to use. The modules will also provide basic instruction to get you started with the tech tools. Time estimates are not provided and will depend on an instructor's prior experience, and skill/comfort levels, but most modules will probably take a minimum of two hours. Each module will require instructors to try out tools and submit an artifact to demonstrate their understanding and ability to use the tools.
