A Friendly Reminder
We ask that you nor your student enter your child's classroom until 7:50 am , which is first bell. Our teachers need this critical time for lesson planning. In the event you need to speak to your child's teacher or administrator, we ask that you email them and schedule a time.
School Door Schedule
MORNING The Cafeteria Door will be opened at 7:30 am every morning for Breakfast. Kids are only allowed to be indoors to have breakfast. Kids are not allowed to roam the school nor visit classrooms due to a lack of supervision. At first bell (7:50 am.) all doors will be open for all to enter the school. At 7:55 am all students are to be in their classroom. After 7:55 am all students are to enter through the main doors at the front office. AFTERNOON All after-school pickups should be done at the upper field. Once the After-School programs start back up, all students should be picked up at the back lower playground. Front office doors will be closed every day at 3:30 pm.
Dungeons & Dragons!
Have experience with Dungeons & Dragons? Want to introduce kids to the magic of fantasy and RPGs while also helping them building confidence, social skills, and problem-solving skills? We are seeking teen and adult volunteers to help create and support an after-school D&D program for 4th & 5th graders at Beacon Hill. You don't need to be an expert in the game; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and mentor the kids are the most important qualifications. We will need approximately 1 volunteer to every 4 students enrolled—at least 2 or 3 to start! We hope to begin in the Spring, meeting once or twice a week, but details are TBD once we know we have enough volunteers to facilitate the program! If you are interested in learning more and/or have suggestions based on experience, please contact the counselor, Ms. Elizabeth, at esswarny@seattleschools.org or (206) 252-2735. All languages welcome (though most of the materials we have access to are in English or Spanish).
Message From Our PTA!
Volunteers Needed for After-School Enrichment Program!
A few more volunteers would really help our after-school program to thrive! If you're available on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 2:25 pm - 3:45 pm , please consider leading or assisting one of our after-school activities. Please contact info@beaconhillpta.org if you are interested in helping out with a class or would like to get more information. As a thank you for being an instructor or assistant, your child will receive free admission to any after-school activity!
Spirit Wear Student Art Contest!
This year, some of our spirit wear will feature art from our very own Beacon Hill International School students! If your student would like to enter the contest to have their artwork displayed on our new spirit wear items, please have them create a piece of art that represents what they love about their school. The contest winners’ art will then be placed on some of our new spirit wear next year! Art submissions should be created using markers on a plain sheet of paper (no lines) and should be submitted to your teacher. The deadline for submissions has been extended to January 19th!
Red Apple Receipt Reminder:
Please drop off all your Red Apple Receipts by the end of the school year so that they may be counted! Red Apple will donate 1% of all receipts back to the PTA. Receipts can be dropped off in any of the PTA mailboxes, or in the red box by the front office.
