Message from the President
Hey!
Hey!
We did it! October is nearly in the books! Race for Education was huge, and the students were in their element. The kids looked amazing in their themed outfits (from superheroes, cows, minions, sport all-starts, and 8th Grader Court – many thanks for the sashes with “2024” on them). If you see Sumner and James during drop off and pick up, give them major props for their hard work. Thank you to all the volunteers, cheerleaders, and teachers (the real MVPs) – I hope you all had fun!
In terms of Trunk or Treat, what a night! I loved walking around and seeing all the creativity – Aliens, 101 Dalmatians, Stranger Things, Tiger King, the Witches Lair (with the warning of baking children into pies) and very on topic – Taylor Swift! Major respect to the Swifties! Thank you for your participation and creating a safe place for the kids to just play.
As we roll into November, we are turning into serious part of parents – pageants and events. November 1 is the Kindergarten All Saints Day Parade – a fun way to learn about saints. For the older students, our 8th graders will be confirmed on November 6, 2023. Prayers to both kindergartners and 8th graders and their families.
Please remember that November 7 is both the PTO monthly meeting (all virtual) AND our Taco Bamba restaurant fundraiser night.

If you have events to be included here, please let me know by Wednesday of each week.

PTO Volunteer Opportunities
I would not be a good PTO board member if I didn’t advocate for leaders within our school community. Currently, we have needs for the following roles:
- STM Auction Chair (s) – the biggest event and fundraiser of the school year, this is your chance to organize the biggest party. More information to follow soon!
- STM Fund Liaison – a new position where a parent or group of parents meet with Parish staff to begin the ramp up of fundraising through the Parish.
- Recess Monitors - signups are on Membership Toolkit
- Parish Volunteers - There a few opportunities to participate in parish activities that can contribute to family volunteer requirements. As we finish the migration to MT, we will begin to post activities there.
*As a reminder, all volunteers must be VIRTUS trained to volunteer at school events during school hours, including field trips*
VIRTUS Training
We keep talking about volunteering but let’s take a few steps back and talk about how to get to volunteer during school hours. Want to sling some slices of pizza or attend an amazing field trip as a chaperone? You will need VIRTUS Training and an account with the Diocesan Office of Child Protection.
There is an application, background check, and training you must complete but once you are done - volunteering is more accessible. Each parent/guardian must be VIRTUS compliant in order to volunteer within the school. Please reach out to the STM Office for further information.
