A Message from Dr. Lowry
Timberwolf Family,
Can you believe our 1st Six Weeks is already over? Let's be sure to start our 2nd Six Weeks strong and stay strong. This will require all of us to work together to accept nothing less than your child's personal best.
In a few weeks we will be opening up our school-wide, positive behavioral interventions and support (PBIS) virtual store. Our PTA sponsors this program and helps us with the store weekly. Our staff has already been awarding points for students who showcase Respect the PACK (Prepared, Accountable, Courageous, Kind) characteristics. Students can use these points to purchase many fun items. Be sure to ask your students about this and see how many Pack Points they have earned.
Remember, parents, if you plan on volunteering, the district has some new guidelines for you to follow. Beginning October 1, the district will require all volunteers serving on campus during the instructional day to register with the district through its Raptor security system. Please see below for more information.
Lastly, our tutorial schedule has several changes for the 2nd Six Weeks. Please make sure you check the schedule below before dropping off your student for tutorials in the morning.
As always please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Here’s to the start of a new grading period and another great WoodCreek week!
GO TIMBERWOLVES!
Dr. Andrew Lowry

KISD OFFERS COURSE FOR SPANISH SPEAKERS
Katy ISD offers a course that is designed specifically to benefit students that speak Spanish at home so that they may continue to develop and further expand their language skills. This course is unique in that it allows the student to obtain 4 language credits in 2 years. Students can earn 2 credits for SpSpSp1/2 in one year, offered at the junior high level, and 2 credits for SpSpSp 3 PreAP/AP Spanish Language in another year. The attached document or the video at https://tinyurl.com/SpSpSpKaty explains and provides further details about the Spanish for Spanish Speakers program.
The exam will be administered September 27, 2022, during the school day at WCJH.
If your child demonstrates an intermediate proficiency level in understanding and communicating in Spanish, your child will have the option to enroll in a Spanish for Spanish Speakers in 8th grade if the course is offered at your junior high, or in 9th grade, at the high school level.
COLLEGE AND CAREER NIGHT
Save the Date! Katy ISD will host its annual College and Career Night on Wednesday, October 12th at the Merrell Center.
