Take a look at all of the fun we had this week!

After conversations with our bus service provider due to the daily lateness of students arriving at school, it has been determined that the morning route for Bus 3 needs to begin 10 minutes earlier than it currently does. That said, on Monday, September 11th, all Bus 3 morning pickup times will be moved 10 minutes earlier. For example, if your current pickup time is 8:22 AM, starting Monday it will be 8:12 AM. We still also recommend that students stand at their designated pickup locations approximately 5-10 minutes before their pickup times in addition to this new schedule adjustment. This is to ensure the bus driver does not miss picking up any students if they are running ahead of schedule, which does happen (although we have not yet seen that this school year).

We are hopeful that this change will alleviate the timing issues we have had since the beginning of the school year. We appreciate your patience and your flexibility as we have worked towards a more stable situation. As soon as we have an updated route list from the bus service provider we will have it updated on our district website on the Boundaries & Bus Info page.

Bus stop times on Wednesday afternoon will be about 50 minutes before the normal time. For example, if your child's normal stop time is 3:30, it will be around 2:40 on Wednesday the 13th. Please plan accordingly!

This week our students will be practicing how to stay safe during a fire drill and learn about bus safety. On Monday, students will participate in a fire drill. On Wednesday, students will learn from staff and bus drivers how to stay safe while traveling on a school bus.

PTA is facilitating and offering ice cream treat day again this year. The forms and payments are due by Wednesday, September 13th.

If you are willing to help support families in need, you can round up your total to build the SOAR fund. This PTA fund will be used to help support our Evergreen families in need of financial support.

If you would like your child to participate in ice cream treat day, but need some assistance, please contact Sarah Smith.

Thank you for attending our 2nd-4th grade curriculum night last night. We appreciate your partnership in your child's education.

Our students have been learning about SOAR (Stay Safe, Own Your Actions, Always a Leader, and Respect Yourself or Others) in all areas of Evergreen. The bathroom is always an area that needs a lot of reminders. This is the video that we used to teach our students of our bathroom expectations. It would be helpful to review these expectations with your child at home as well as school!

Please make sure that dogs and pets are not on Evergreen property during arrival and dismissal. This includes the grassy area by the marquee in the front of the building. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Please call the office no later than 2:00pm if you have to change your child's pick up plan for the day (ex. student will no longer be riding the bus and will be picked up). This will allow staff to inform the correct people in the right amount of time.

If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the Evergreen Office, 630-876-7810, to report your child's absence no later than 8:00 AM the day of the absence. Please only email your child's classroom teacher about an absence after you have called the office. You can leave a message about an absence on the attendance line at anytime.
