Open Session

The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in the BISD Board Room on Monday, August 21st, 2023.

  • Given annually by the San Antonio Express News to the best overall high school sports program in San Antonio area

  • Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada

BEF Board

  • BEF poured over $400,000 into Boerne ISD schools
  • Just two weeks ago, over 700 Boerne ISD teachers received an amazon gift card for $75 to purchase school supplies for their classroom

SAM's Kids Board

  • The SAM’s Kids board work tirelessly to assist Boerne ISD students by providing school supplies, backpacks, and many other resources

  • Thank you to the amazing staff at Oak Hills Church for partnering with Boerne ISD to host our 2023 Convocation Ceremony

Safety and Security Awards

  • BISD Chief of Safety and Security Rick Goodrich, 2023 TASRO Administrator of the Year
  • Voss Middle School Resource Officer Deputy Jared Moore, 2023 TASRO Officer of the Year Award.

SROs and Security Guards

  • Thank you to the Boerne ISD School Resource Officers as well as the new Security Guards and Hall Monitors!

Facilities Named

The Board voted to name two district facilities.


Elementary #8 was named Viola “Olie” Wilson Elementary School, while the Board also named the George and Bedelia Mitchell Learning Center (formerly the BISD Administration Center).

Boerne ISD Purchases Land

Boerne ISD has purchased over 70 acres of land to build future district facilities.


The land purchased is on Old Fredericksburg Rd. and borders IH10.


The announcement was made at the Monday, August 21st Board of Trustees meeting.

Superintendent Search

The Board hired the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services (ESS) to lead the search for the next Boerne ISD Superintendent.


More information regarding the search will be announced soon.

Legislative Priorities

The Board approved its Legislative Priorities for the expected upcoming Special Session.

Superintendent's Report

  • Thank you to our Principals, teachers, and staff for a very smooth opening of the school year.
  • Thank you to Hays CISD for partnering with us to borrow air-conditioned buses.
  • We have over 60 applicants to the Boerne ISD Community Leadership Academy.
  • Bond projects are progressing well. All are on scheduled to open on time.
  • Our Safety and Security program is considered one of the best in the region.
