Meet Candi Stark, our new Infant and Toddler Specialist
Hello Everyone, my name is Candi Stark, I am the Infant Toddler Specialist at Clackamas CCR&R. Oregon has been my home my entire life. I've been involved in our Clackamas County community working with children and families in ECE for many years. I started my career as a preschool teacher in a certified center. I continued my career in ECE and taught for several local programs. It led me to becoming a provider and opening my own childcare, preschool and kids programs. I received my associates degree in ECE, Family Studies and Human services from CCC and have my Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Studies from PSU. I also have my certifications in ABA as a Behavioral Interventionist. I enjoy using my skills, training, experience and knowledge to encourage others. I do what I do because I believe in supporting one another. I believe in supporting our childcare providers in providing care for all children, especially our infants and toddlers. I am a Mother of two now grown children and a Grammie of two beautiful grandbabies. In my free time I'm out loving the outdoors, hiking, kayaking and exploring places I haven't been.

Meet Dianice Torrado, our new Bilingual Quality Improvement Specialist, English/Spanish
My name is Dianice Torrado was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I am married with three children and I have a Bachelor's degree in special education and a Master degree in Management and Leadership. I moved to Oregon after Hurricane Maria in 2017 hit the island and lost everything, life gives another chance to start over. I'm a person who loves life, family, and dogs. Some of my favorite hobbies are hiking, bike, paddleboard, reading, and making jewelry. Everyday I get up with a positive attitude trying to improve myself as a human being and professional. I also love trying new things and discovering new places. I'm grateful for this new position and so excited for the new challenges.

The Growing Brain: From Birth to 5 Years Old is an innovative professional development opportunity that provides a toolkit of how the brain develops, along with ways you can encourage healthy brain development in children from birth to 5 years old.
Participants will develop skills and strategies to:
Understand the architecture and neurobiology of brain development, support language, cognition, prosocial behavior, and social-emotional development, reduce toxic stress that can negatively influence brain development of very young children.
Participants will be required to attend all 7 sessions to receive ORO credit hours and a certificate.
Cost of this cohort includes training materials and handbook.
