ALL BULLDOG
January 15-21, 2024 Marysville Jr/Sr High School
Principal's Note
Usually there is something on the tip of my tongue that I am ready to talk about at a moment's notice. With us barely being in school last week, I am struggling. I think the best thing to say is that we need all of you to be at your best this week. The snow days have put us behind a week, which unfortunately means that your teachers (and you) have a lot to accomplish the next few weeks. Do your best, ask for help, and represent our school with pride inside and outside the classroom. If you do that, we will get back on track in style. Have a great week!
Tim Woodcock, Principal

Civic Engagement Part II
Several members of our community came in Thursday to talk about volunteer opportunities in Marysville. This event was the second part in the Civic Engagement Series organized by Bill Phillipi and Jim Swim. Part III will be Senior County Government Day hosted in April. It's so great for our students to hear about the volunteer opportunities out there and how our community members make Marysville great!

Free Tax Prep Available
Do you have a job? If so, you should be receiving a W-2 by the end of the month. If there is withholding in box 2 you should file income tax.
While most students are claimed by their parents, they can still file taxes to get back the Federal and State tax withholding.
RSVP of NE Kansas in cooperation with K-State Research and Extension in Marshall County provides free income tax assistance for families that make $60,000 or less. All students qualify for this free tax preparation service.
Parents, if your child takes college classes that you paid for, make sure you have them get you a copy of the 1098-T. This form can be found on the Highland Self Service account under the finance category. This form will allow your tax preparer to access the lifetime learning credit when preparing your tax return. This credit can reduce the taxes owed or increase your refund. Make sure you take advantage of this tax credit.
Where to receive this free tax preparation service? Contact Susie Latta at the Marshall County Extension office at 785-562-3531 or slatta@ksu.edu or Jenny Mathewson at 785-562-2154 or jmrsvpneks@bluevalley.net
Save your family tax preparation fees by utilizing this free tax service. Don't leave your money with the IRS. File your taxes so you can receive all the tax withholding due to you.
Have Questions? Even in you don't need this free tax service please feel free to call us about tax questions that you might have. We have access to resources and professionals that can help answer your questions or at least point you in the right direction.
