The Hawk Talk
'Together, We Can Make a Difference.' November 22, 2019
Principal's Point
Today, 11.21.19, marks the 70th day of school. In this season of thanks, there are far more than 70 reasons to be thankful. Here are three that need to be highlighted:
Hawthorne students are trying hard to make better choices which has led to the lowest number of referrals and suspensions in over eight years. This increases learning time and is an improvement from last year’s great growth!
Hawthorne staff continues to be focused on the growth of ALL LEARNERS. Each grade level continues to stay focused on students’ development in reading and math. Students are working hard to increase their achievement. Staff is also working to improve each other’s instruction.
Hawthorne families have done a great job supporting student learning and the growth of our school.
This is why HawkNation is forever THANKFUL for all those that support our school as we strive to show #HAWKPRIDE each and every day! Please remember that “Together We Can Make a Difference!” Enjoy your weekend! Mr. Butler #TAKEACTION

MSD of Warren Twp. High Ability Program
Warren's High Ability Program is designed to meet the unique academic needs of gifted and talented students. The curriculum in these classes is differentiated and faster paced and students will be working above grade level if they qualify. As a district, we look at all students in grades 1, 4, 6 and 8 to see if they qualify for the following school year based on eligibility criteria. Parent recommendations are considered along with achievement scores when determining placement in high ability. More detailed identification information can be found here. If you would like to complete a recommendation for the broad based planning committee to consider you can do so here 2020-2021 High Ability Parent Recommendation Form The parent recommendation form will be open until January 31, 2020.
