Snapshot - Home Learning Edition
19.06.2020
Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We would like to continue to share the achievements of our students during this uncertain time. Each week we will include new ideas for student challenges to do at home, nominations of students who we are celebrating in each subject, and updates from the home learning team. If you have done a piece of work you are really proud of, or have completed one of our challenges and would like to share it in Snapshot next week, please email this to homelearning@corbytechnicalschool.org with the title of the email being 'Snapshot', including a short description of your work, and we will choose a selection to share.
Active Northants:
Northamptonshire Sport have been running Active Northants for the last three weeks. As part of their offer to provide opportunities for teenagers within the county to be physically active they have been funding local partners to deliver FREE sessions in Boxing, Calisthenics, Dance, Fitness and Yoga. These sessions are free for anyone between the ages of 14 and 16 to sign up to and are a great way to keep yourself active and fit at home.
To help incentivise this they have added some exciting new incentives:
- Northamptonshire Sport will be funding this for at least 12 more weeks to allow teenagers to complete the sessions as part of their DofE physical.
- They have introduced a refer a friend policy. If you sign up 5 friends and they enter your name as the referral you get £5, and for 10 friends you get £10.
Register now at www.northamptonshiresport.org/activenorthants to get access to all these sessions live each week.

Focus Feature:
Each week we have featured what our teaching staff have been doing during lockdown this week is the turn of PE, here is what the team have been doing.
It is really important that although there are restrictions we continue to exercise for our health and well-being, walking is a great way to do this. It has been great to see so many people taking up fitness activities such as running, cycling, walking and doing this as a family.
Mr Chatfield has spent his time looking after his new born son Isaac, born just before lockdown at 7lb10oz. During this time he has learnt to roll over, started weaning and can shout very loud at the most inconvenient times such as 3am in the morning. He has now doubled his weight and enjoying daily walks with Mr and Mrs Chatfield’s golden retriever Lincoln.
