North Pole High School
Week At A Glance
December 18-December 22
Greetings Staff,
Well you have waited on this week for eighteen Mondays and this week marks the end of first semester. As another reminder, It is important to make sure that there are no early finals given to students. Please refer to School Board Policy 974.11 for more details or if you have any questions as it relates to this reminder. Friday was an exciting day as we had two students from North Pole High that represent the State of Alaska in Washington DC. Will Samuel is the recipient of the CTE Presidential Scholar of the Year, Shahiba Bhattarai is the recipient of the Presidential Scholar of the Year, and finally Susan Glade is a finalist for the Coca Cola Scholarship of the year. Over 40% of the students that will participate in the Pipleline Center Trade classes this upcoming semester are from North Pole High. We have the most students in the District that were afforded this opportunity.
This past weekend we were represented at State Wrestling quite well. If you get a chance be sure to congratulate Bradley Antesperger on his two time State Champion title, Kailey Fowlkes and Ellie Schumaker on their State Championship win, Raeanne Jackson for a hard fought second, Darrin Peterson and Mark Fisher both finished fifth. The Girls team also placed second in the state and there were only four girls on our team. The band/orchestra gave a raving performance this past week. Be sure to check out the choir tonight beginning at 7:00pm.
Now as we forge ahead to next semester we will begin work on personalized learning. Our optional staff Christmas luncheon is Wednesday beginning at 1:00. Another great opportunity to mingle before the holidays.
