Spending time at the beach, lake, or river is a great way to stay active, but it's important to stay safe! Natural bodies of water can carry germs that may make you sick if swallowed or if they get into open cuts or wounds.

Here are some tips to stay safe:

• ✅ Check water conditions before you go—look for closures or advisories.

• 🚫 Avoid swimming with open cuts or wounds. If you must, cover them with waterproof bandages.

• 💧 Don’t swallow the water! Natural water sources may contain harmful germs.

• 🏖️ Keep sand away from your mouth and children’s mouths—it can carry germs too.

• 🚽 Take regular bathroom breaks for kids and change diapers away from the water.

Prepare To Fill Out the 2025–26 FAFSA® Form

Here are some ways you can get ready to fill out your FAFSA form:

• Create a StudentAid.gov account (if you don’t already have one).

• Learn about the documents you may need to fill out the FAFSA form.

• Determine your dependency status and whether your parent(s) or spouse will be required to contribute information on your FAFSA form.

• If you’re a dependent student, use the Who’s My FAFSA Parent? wizard to identify which parent(s) will be a required contributor on your form.

• You will need your parent(s)/guardians Date of Birth, Social, and Email address.

• FAFSA Privacy and Data Protection:

• FAFSA information is strictly confidential and used solely for determining financial aid eligibility.

• The U.S. Department of Education protects FAFSA data under federal privacy laws such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), ensuring information is not shared with immigration or law enforcement agencies.

• Schools and districts are trained to explain these protections to families, reassuring parents that reporting their information is safe and secure.
