Week 14- We are thankful to have our Lion Cub Leaders back in the building!
Lion Cub families, we hope you had a great Thanksgiving Break with your family and friends. We are thankful to have each of you as a part of our Haw River Community! This week we are continuing to move full speed ahead while supporting our students are they learn, lead, and succeed!
Below are some updates for this week:
- Families may come to each lunch with your students. Please reach out to your child's teacher to let them know you are coming so they can plan for seating. Remember: NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK MAY BE BROUGHT IN. Upon arrival, please sign in at the front office and get a visitor's tag.

Volunteer Opportunties
During this season of giving, there is no greater gift you can give than your own time. Volunteering your time at our school would be a great gift! We are currently looking for volunteers to help with our duty-free lunch. To volunteer, please complete the background check linked here and then sign-up to volunteer in the sign-up genius linked here.
All volunteers must have a background check on file before they can volunteer.
HABIT 3: PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST
One of the principles of this habit is to say no to things we know we should not do. For example, if your child is invited to play with a friend and they have not completed their homework, they should be reminded that to put first things first means to work first and then play. This teaches children how to prioritize and delay gratification, a skill that we need to have as an adult.
Please talk with your child about how they can put first things first at home and school.
2nd Place
In second place is Magisterium with 2796 points. The points leader for this school year is Ehidan R., in 2nd grade. The points leaders for the second nine weeks are Elizabeth F., in 2nd grade, and Makayla H., in 3rd grade.
3rd Place
In third place is Excelsior with 2725 points. The points leader for this school year AND for the second nine weeks is Jordyn R., in 2nd grade.
