Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
Somehow, we find outselves staring down the last week of school for our youngest learners at HRES. Our kindergarteners have grown as learners and as people this year. Our school values, which are lived each and evey day, and supported by our families, have helped prepare these students for a first-grade experience. Teachers have several fun events planned this week for our kindergarten students, including a Step-Up Day on Tuesday. Each year, before the last day of kindergarten, each grade level is guided to classrooms to visit the teachers in the next grade level. Students will meet the teacher who COULD be their next teacher to learn a bit about what the 23-24 school year could look like! Please ask your student(s) about the experience when they get home on Tuesday.
Finally, the end of the school year is an exciting time, but it can also bring about other emotions like sadness and anxiety. Leaving friends and familiar routines can cause students to worry. Please know that we plan to reflect on the year with our students and do our best to set them up for success as they prepare to move forward. We will continue to keep our high expectations for learning and behavior as we wrap-up this school year. Thank you for supporting the HRES community so that we can best enjoy the culmination of another year.
