What a strange year this has been for theatre! Given the challenges of the pandemic, Kate Flock and I knew we had to get creative. I am so grateful that Kate says "yes!" to my sometimes ridiculous brainstorms and then does everything possible to make it happen for our students.

We acquired a remote streaming license which gave us the most flexibility to produce a show in unique circumstances. The students formed subcommittees to tackle production elements (filming locations, costumes, makeup, props etc.). However, it was the leadership of senior Ryan Hermenet who truly made this project possible. As Assistant Director, Ryan took the lead on filming decisions, managing the camera crew, and also editing. He received a big assist from junior Cody Acquista who also took on filming and editing responsibility (he's also our resident special FXs editor!).

To say this product is a labor of love is an understatement. Our students worked with new mediums (film, audio recording, editing) and in a variety of locations in and out of school. We were all forced to learn new skills this year!

Thank you to Newark Central School District for allowing this project to go forward. Thank you for recognizing how important the theatre program is to our students.

Ironically, this odd storyline (don't try to understand it haha!), the theatrical quality of Queen music, and this AMAZING group of students makes We Will Rock You the perfect choice for us this year.

Like the characters in this piece (300 years in the future on "iPlanet") we know what the world looks like without live concerts, performances, and art...it's not somewhere any of us want to be.

We look forward to hosting you in our audience in the future so that we can experience together the power and magic of live theatre. Thank you for supporting our project this year - we truly hope you enjoy the show.
