Class 1
The first graders had a wonderful May Day; dancing with sixth grade buddies- what could be better! Thank you everyone for the help making May crowns, they were beautiful.
We’re on to play practice and finishing our main lesson work for the year!

Class 6 - Forest Class
The sixth graders have brought history to life through the Medieval Games and Chivalry Project. A long lived tradition of the Siskiyou Kingdom, the Chivalry Project honors both the Code of Chivalry of medieval knights, as well as our sixth-grade students growing into young adulthood. The freedom and privilege of adulthood come with daily choices of how to act responsibly or in service to one's community.
Knights were trained in sword fighting and archery, as well as artistry and literacy. Dancing was an art as important as learning to fence or ride a horse. Knights learned how to fight in a battlefield and how to notice the flower in the meadow and be able to write a poem about it. Knights protected not only the king and queen, but cared for the most vulnerable people.
Just as a squire embodies the virtues of a Code of Chivalry in practice, each sixth grader has committed themselves to practicing virtues and accomplishing tasks over the course of the month, culminating next week in the Knighting Ceremony. It's been an honor to watch them take on the work with such earnest endeavor.

The Snow White Project - Ashland Children's Theatre
When Snow White dons her little red riding hood and the Frog Prince demands a kiss, we know we might need a little help getting through to the end of this fairy tale classic. A poisoned watermelon, a fugitive dwarf and a mirror distracted by pastry make an effort to derail this comedy for all ages. And though it may look as if it’s headed for a Grimm collision, rest assured, all will live happily ever after.
Ukranian Cultural Celebration - May 20
