A Message From The Principal
Hello Weiss Families,
We are thrilled to announce that we have an exciting lineup of activities planned as we approach the end of the school year. We can't wait to spend these precious moments with our beloved Wildcats and create lasting memories together.
Get ready for a fun-filled time with our upcoming carnival, field day, outdoor PBIS yard games for students , Kindergarten celebrations, 5th-grade celebrations, and more! These events will bring joy and laughter to our students as we celebrate their accomplishments.
As the weather warms up, we kindly request that you ensure your child brings a water bottle, and tasty snacks to keep them refreshed and energized during recess.
We understand that the busy schedule may require some additional planning for families, but we want to assure you that every moment spent together will be meaningful and enjoyable.
Stay tuned for more details as we approach these exciting activities. Let's make the most of this special time and celebrate the end of the school year with our Wildcats!
Warm regards,
Mr. Bezeau

School Happenings
1st Grade PBL
One of our first grade PBLs(Project Based Learning) culminated with a visit to T.A.I.L.S Cat Rescue. The first graders wrote letters, sent communication to families, worked with representative from T.A.I.L.S, and learned about wants and needs throughout this project. Because of the passion from students, over $450 was raised for T.A.I.L.S, cats were adopted, blankets were made for the cats, and many supplies were donated on behalf of our Weiss families. Great job, first graders!!
5th Grade PBL
Our fifth grade wrapped up their PBL today with the installation of the signs they have been working on. Throughout this PBL the 5th graders have met with the Woodhaven police department about local ordinances, our GSD maintenance director, Mr. Bezeau, and our maintenance and grounds crew. Throughout all of these interactions they have learned so much. Great job, 5th graders!!
STEM Designs
One of the most powerful piece of the engineering design process and invention process is showing off your work. In STEM class the students have been doing just that!
Talent Show
It was so great to see some of our Wildcat's talent's on display during our talent show last week! We are so proud of all Wildcats for performing in front of their peers and families! Thank you Mrs. Moreno and Ms. Fountain for organizing this event to give our students an opportunity to showcase their passions!

Drama Club for Fall of 2023
We have an exciting opportunity for adults who are interested in supporting our school's potential drama club, led by Mrs. Kelly, our School Librarian. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, Mrs. Kelly is seeking dedicated individuals to assist her in various aspects of the club, including auditions, rehearsals, and practices.
If you have a passion for drama and would like to contribute your time and expertise, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Please reach out to Mrs. Kelly by emailing hughesk@gibdist.net to express your interest in becoming an assistant for the drama club.
Your involvement will not only help enhance the experience for our students but also contribute to the overall success of the club. We look forward to hearing from you and working together to create a memorable drama club for the upcoming school year.

SUMMER LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
Here is a summer learning link for families that may want to do something extra and fun with their kids over the summer. The booklets are leveled by early learners, lower elementary, and upper elementary. The activities involve science, literacy, and math. There are lots of opportunities for students to read as well as explore the outdoors.
Thanks to our Instructional Coach, Mrs. Buscemi, for sharing this information!
