Bernardo Parent Bulletin #37

It was great to see so many Bernardo families at our Family Glow Dance this past Friday! A huge thank you to our dance coordinators, Heather Imeson and Andrea Ingold, as well as everyone who volunteered to help set-up, serve food, sell spirit wear, as well as clean up. Thank you for supporting this fun event that and helping make memories that our students will remember for years to come!

Our kindergarten book drive held in March resulted in 333 new books being donated and delivered to the Ronald McDonald House! Thank you Bernardo families for your generosity and kindness towards others during times of need. You are amazing!

Orders are due tomorrow, May 1st and can be made by visiting our Yearbook Order Page.

If you ordered a personal page, your deadline to create your page is also May 1st.

As we begin thinking about events for the 2023-2024 school year, our PTA would like parent feedback and/or ideas about potential PTA-sponsored events. Please click here to take a brief survey.

See the flyer below for some fun ways that our PTA will be encouraging our staff that week. There are still a few volunteer slots left to help with decorations and prep for the week. Click Here if you can sign up.

A new event highlighted below is the staff coffee cart that will be at school between 7:30-8:30. Parent can donate towards staff treats while also purchasing their own beverages as well.

Please feel free to express your gratitude any way that you see fit. While some parents choose to show their appreciation in tangible ways through gifts, acts of appreciation don't necessarily need to cost money. A simple email, letter, or card of appreciation also means a lot!

This year's 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony is in need of 1-2 experienced photographers to help capture the special moments of promotion for our students and families. Photographers would need to be available on Thursday, June 1st from approximately 8:00am-10:00am. A small stipend is available.

The work with assigning students for next year's classes will soon begin. Your child's current teacher will work with their grade level team to create balanced classes for next year that will maximize the learning potential of all students based on several factors which include:

• class size
• gender
• academic levels
• behavioral factors
• student support needs
• social needs, etc.

We hope that our parents and guardians have full trust in our staff who have gotten to know our students so deeply. That being said, as a parent, you have unique insights into your child which may be helpful to share as we work through the class placement process.

If you would like to provide input about your child that you would like us to consider, please Click here to download a Parent/Guardian Input Form and submit your feedback before May 5. Please note that we do not accept specific teacher requests but greatly value any information that you would like to share that you feel will help maximize your child's full potential.
