From the Counseling Team:
It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the end of the first semester. That being said, the BHS Counseling Department would like to ensure a smooth transition to the second semester. Here are a few tips as we embark on the second semester:
Students will be able to view second semester schedules on Tuesday, January 18th. Please review schedules for accuracy. If there is a discrepancy with the schedule, students must complete the Request for Schedule Change Form. Please be mindful that schedules will only be changed if it meets one of the criterias: a) Student is missing a class, or b) Student has taken class previously and earned a passing grade.
Review transcripts after 1st semester grades have been posted. Be sure to check the total number of credits, class ranking and overall GPA.
Reflect on your first semester. Think about what worked or didn’t work in helping you learn.
Get organized for the start of the new semester. The first step to manage stress throughout the school year is to take control of your academic responsibilities. Organize your backpack and Google Docs. Purge items that are no longer needed.
Student Opportunities:
NEW GIS course is coming soon!
Attention 11th and 12th grade parents. BHS will be offering a GIS (Geospatial Information Systems) course during the second semester. Students will learn about digital mapping, the process for creating apps and drone technology. Please contact your child’s counselor if you would like more information or to enroll your child into this course.

TO SUBMIT SENIOR PHOTOS:
While I recommend going to Focal Point for your senior photos, I can’t force you to use them. If you go to a different photographer, there are very specific directions that need to be followed. Please click here to read what directions both the photographer and your son/daughter need to follow. The head size and photo size and background are important, and so is how it is submitted. All those directions can be found on the yearbook page on the high school website. Please click here for directions on how to submit your senior photo if you didn’t go to Focal Point or Shannon’s.
If you go to Focal Point or Shannon’s Photography, you do NOT need to worry about the things I wrote in the paragraph above, as they will handle getting the senior photos to me in the correct format.
