From the Principal...
Dear MacArthur Families,
Wow! After two full weeks of MAP testing, we are seeing amazing results from scholars. It is great to see the growth and outcomes from all the hard work our teachers, scholars, and families have put in throughout our students' educational journeys. This spring was the first time our K-2nd grade students took the MAP test, and they shined in their ability to persevere and try their best!
The greatest part about this process is seeing the pride on our students' faces when they can show off their thinking. Knowing that they have accomplished something and learned so much along the way is such a joy to see, and the reason behind why those of us here at MAC do what we do.
Students have been able to meet their goals because of all the instructional support that is being provided by all involved in our scholars' lives. The MacArthur Elementary community is really thriving this year and we are all growing together.
Great work everyone!
Sincerely,
Mr. Gonzalez
Time flies when you are having fun!

Notes from the Office:
Last Day of School: Our 4K students will have their normal hours for their last day of school on Thursday, June 8th. Please note that 5K-5th graders will dismiss at 12:03 on Friday June 9th. We will dismiss scholars in the same way we would on a normal Friday schedule, just at 12:03 instead of 4:06. Bus arrival time to residences/after school care will be expected to be approximately 4 hours earlier.
If you would like to change your scholar's dismissal plan for that day, please inform your child's teacher by sending in an Eagle Note. If you know of the change already, an Eagle Note can come in any time between now and the end of the school year for the last day of school. The half day is quite busy for our scholars and teachers and we would like to be as prepared as possible by preventing day-of calls into the office that indicate dismissal changes.
If you have your child registered for Kids Klub on June 9th, it will begin as usual at the dismissal time of 12:03. Kids Klub will go until 6pm as normal.
2023-24 School Year
If your family has an incoming 4K or 5K* scholar and you have not registered for the 2023-2024 school year, please do so HERE.
*Registration is just for new families entering the district. If you currently have a 4K student at MacArthur, you do not need to go through the entire online registration process for them to enter 5K in the 23/24 school year.
More enrollment information and specifics can be found here. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the office.
New Address: If you have moved or are planning to move over the summer, please alert the office with your new address information.
Online Verification: In July, you will receive an email from the district to verify enrollment for next year.
Open House: Our Open House will take place the evening of Thursday, August 24th. School pictures are also that evening. 4K and 5K families will have another opportunity to see the school during the new family night hosted by the PTA on the evening of Wednesday, August 23rd.

Notes from the Gym Teacher:
Our FIELD DAY is taking place next Friday, the 26th! During the event, Mr. Gonzalez is going to get SOAKED with super soakers by our scholars since we met (exceeded in great lengths!) our school fundraising goal for the Fun Run. There will also be chalk, popsicles, dancing, Rocket Ball, Tug-O-War, and an obstacle course. See the below button "Field Day Schedule" for all the details.
Please be sure your scholar has sunscreen applied before leaving for school on Friday morning. If it is a warm day, light clothing and a full water bottle are recommended so your scholar is comfortable during the fun.
If you are able to come and volunteer your time to help with the field day fun, please SIGN UP HERE or use the button below. Please contact Mr. Schwarten at dschwarten@gsdwi.org if you have any questions.

Fun Run Update
We made it, CONGRATULATIONS!!
Final Fun Run prizes have been distributed. If additional funds come in from employee matching donations, that student will receive credits and if a prize is due we will distribute at that time.
We are so proud of our students and families. Our school raised a grand total of $49,473. THANK YOU!
As a school we had 92.56% of students registered. This blew us out of the water and is higher than we have ever seen by a lot. We also had 67.98% of students with at least 1 donation. These are amazing numbers! We are so proud of our students and families for participating in such a wonderful fundraiser.
As noted above, we have scheduled the reward for the students to SOAK Mr. Gonzalez with super soakers during the Field Day!
Thank you so much to all of the MacArthur staff for supporting such an amazing fundraiser. We are very excited to see this money be put to good use and benefit the students and staff at MacArthur!

Click the link below for more information. If you already have an account, login in the upper right-hand corner. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one. Please note that some grades have a boy and girl option, due to the teachers needing just half of the class to bring certain supplies. All orders are due by 7/2/2023.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are in great need of volunteers for next year. We need volunteers for numerous positions but in particular we need help with these:
- Fall Art Fundraiser: We run this every other year and it will be Mrs. Killen’s last year running this event. If you are interested at all, it would be a good opportunity to work with our resident expert to learn the position.
- MacCarnival Basket Raffle: Get a chance to work closely with teachers to make a themed basket for each class to raffle off during our MacCarnival.
- Fun Run: If you had a chance to volunteer or watch our awesome Fun Run this year, Mrs. Dombroe will be running it again next year but could use two or three people to help her. This is a good chance to help out without having to be “in charge”!
- School Toolbox: As noted above, this is a great service to our families and this is another chance for someone to learn the job from an expert. Next year will be the last year for Mrs. Zarder so we need someone to work with her to learn the ropes.
- Restaurant Fundraisers: Our PTA Treasurer will be overseeing this again next year but sadly it will be her last year at MacArthur. If you enjoy working with the restaurants in our community, this is a great chance to do so while working with Mrs. Melby to learn the ins and outs.
- Yearbook: Get a chance to shape the memories all of the kids will have from next year by helping with the yearbook!
- 5th Grade Experiences: For any current 4th grade parents that would like to help planning next year's 5th grade farewell and camp experience, please let us know.
Thank you!
