Mountain View Weekly Update

- If you have not already done so, please review Dr. Morillo's 11/24 communication, which contains important updates regarding exclusion criteria.

- As we segue into the long holiday weekend, Mrs. Austenberg and Mrs. Toth kindly ask that parents communicate any last-minute travel plans, changes, and/or health concerns that may arise as soon as possible. Note that if any members of your household develop COVID-like symptoms, all students must stay home. Thank you in advance for helping to keep our school community safe and open for in-person learning.

- With winter temperatures upon us, please be reminded that snack and face-covering breaks will take place outside whenever possible. Further, unless the weather is inclement, students will not be permitted in the building prior to 8:25 a.m. Students must dress accordingly.

- The Mendham Borough Home School Association wants you! Visit the HSA's new website at https://mendhamhsa.membershiptoolkit.com/home to become a member and purchase the 2020-2021 directory.

- The HSA is pleased to launch its new and expanded spirit wear line! Visit the site now for a wide assortment of exciting apparel and non-apparel lion gear for the whole family this holiday season. Some of our newly added pieces include customizable performance fleeces, jackets, crewnecks, and polos for men, women, and children. In addition, we have designed a variety of non-apparel gear such as aluminum water bottles, coffee mugs, aprons, drawstring backpacks and picnic blankets to name a few. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, please adhere to the following procedures for pick-up and drop-off.

- The staff lots are not to be used by parents for pick-up or drop-off. Please use the front circle, Dean Road curb line, and Orchard circle.

- Per the green arrows on the diagram below, cars utilizing Orchard should pull all the way around the circle before dropping off. Please do not stop at the first sidewalk, as indicated by the red "X." This creates a traffic jam and leads parents to pass on the driver's side, which is a danger to students exiting vehicles.

- Also as noted below, the inner circle curb line (red circle) is not to be used for drop-off or pick-up.

- Administration receives regular reports of students not utilizing crosswalks and running across the street, particularly near Orchard and Park. Please remind your child to use crosswalks at all times.

In Advisory today, students played a round of virtual Jeopardy to test their knowledge of all things Thanksgiving! Ask your child what fun trivia tid-bits they learned about being a "balloon handler" in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, or if they can name all of the Peanuts characters seated at Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving table! As we near the end of 2020, Mountain View wishes you a happy and safe holiday, whatever it may look like for you and your family this year.
