The 100th day sure was a blast! 3rd graders first tried to get to 100 catches, worked in groups to name 100 things they know, then multiplied by 10 to get to 100 snacks, created and built with 100 pieces of different objects, and made a 100 year old self craft and writing! They are definitely 100 days brighter!

Our Middle School's Kindness Club is promoting and creating a culture of kindness in our school. Each week we will be giving a 'shoutout' to students caught being kind. Congrats to Seth Brill! One of Seth's teachers noticed him approach a group of students that he felt was not promoting kindness and respectfully asked the group of students to be kind.

Congrats to Oliver Benson, Gena Byrnes, Julianna Cool, Marcus Cool, Morgan Palzkill, and Elliott Webb who participated in UW-Platteville's Tri-State Honors Band Saturday!

3rd graders had some fantastic skits of "The Trial of Rabbit" performed for their 4th grade friends.

Belgium was 1st grade's destination! Margot, a MPHS foreign exchange student who lives with Charley’s family, came to share about her home country.

1st graders ventured to Newfoundland in Canada to learn about the sea, sky, and land animals!

Hello Pointer Families --

After last week's snow day, we unfortunately do not have enough extra hours remaining to cover an entire additional day off this school year, should the need arise. We have a few hours remaining in case of a late start or early release.

This means, if we need to take a full day off, we will need to provide a virtual/asynchronous learning opportunity so we do not need to add additional days to the calendar.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction allows schools to hold Virtual Learning Days, which many districts, including locally, have taken advantage of this year. Schools are required by the DPI to meet a minimum number of instructional minutes each school year.

During a Virtual Learning Day, you would still receive a Skylert notification. Students do not report to school. Expectations for student learning will vary by grade level and classroom and will be communicated by teachers.

We hope we are done with winter, but this is Wisconsin, so we wanted you to be prepared in case winter is not done with us. Please reach out with questions, and as always, thank you for your support of #PointerNation.

Do you have a green thumb or just want to help our students get their hands dirty in the school garden? There will be a meeting on Tuesday, February 21 at 3:45 pm at the Elementary School, room 131. Contact Jessica Soots at jessica.soots@mp.k12.wi.us with questions.

The Mineral Point High School Football team is looking for three Assistant Coaches (one JV Defensive Coordinator and two Program Assistants) for the 2023 Football season. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday after school for practices and games. They will have a staff meeting on Sundays as well during the season. Practice will start for the season on August 1st and will end in November. Coaches must be able to lead or assist in an offensive or defensive position group. Coaches must be good role models, have high integrity, and be able to communicate with all staff and students at a high level. Coaches will need to be able to lead the JV team and Freshman team if games are available for the Freshmen. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: weight room supervision, locker room supervision, and bus supervision. Each position is paid by either the school or the Gridiron Club. Please send a resume and a letter of interest to Athletic Director Vickie Dahl at vickie.dahl@mp.k12.wi.us by March 1.

We are in need of snacks for students and personal hygiene items. Monetary donations will also be accepted which will be used for specific student and family needs.

We are in need of boys pants children’s sizes 4T up to 14/16 and undergarments for boys and girls in all children's sizes 4T up to 14/16. We are also in need of snacks for students and monetary donations which will be used for specific student and family needs.
