Reality Check Event

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer! The Reality Check Event is going to be fun for everyone! This event is for juniors and seniors. We will have another Reality Check Event for Freshman and Sophomores in February.

Arkansas Arts Academy is excited to partner with TASC for their Reality Check event. For this event, students will get a taste of what life is like as a grown-up! The Reality Check gives students a peek into what life may be like as an adult. Each student will be assigned a career, a salary, and a checkbook. Moreover, these students are randomly assigned a marital status and up to three children and then released into the PAC where a mock community awaits. The community includes separate booths full of local businessmen and women who are eager to teach lessons on just how far a dollar can go.

Reality Check provides an excellent opportunity for adolescents to gain some insight into the many responsibilities of adulthood while offering the students an opportunity to think about their career choices. The fall Reality Check will be held on November 7th from 11:00am-3:00pm. The fall event will be for juniors and seniors. The spring Reality Check will be held on February 13th from 11:00am-3:00pm. The spring event will be for 9th and 10th graders.
