I know our Juniors and Seniors are looking forward to going to college this coming fall or a year from this fall. Many Universities have opportunities for students to experience the campus through tours and other events. As we hear of them, we will share the information with you.

One University has reached out and shared about their Senior Year Experience. The University of North Texas has shared some amazing opportunities for our students that are interested in going to UNT. If you would like more details, please here to learn more. Juniors have a Junior day and a Senior day this summer that they can attend in preparation for their Senior year.

Starting next week, we will be kicking off round two of our interim STAAR tests. Any student in grades 3 through 8th grade will be taking the math and reading. High school students in English I, English II, and Algebra I will also be taking their exams. To ensure that your scholar has the best supports they need remind them to do their best on these. We will be starting afterschool and Friday tutoring once all exams are complete.

Seniors, money for your cap and gown are due by Friday Febuary 17th. The cost is $100 and needs to be turned into Ms. Higgins.

Now that we are back from winter break, we are entering into a time of test prep for our STAAR and second language learners. I am attaching a letter from our Director of Special Populations concerning TELPAS testing. As always if you have any questions, please reach out to us.

Good afternoon parents! Manara’s Intent to Return for 2023-2024 is now LIVE. Filling out this quick and easy form allows you to save your child’s seat for next year, rather than going through the enrollment lottery with all new students. Even if you aren’t returning to Manara, please go ahead and complete this form, as it helps us identify accurate class numbers for next year. The first grade level on each campus to have 100% responses to the ITR form will receive a special treat from Dr. Wilshire! Any students that complete this form by Friday will also receive two free dress down days.

Autism Awareness month is coming up in April. Manara Academy will be putting on an event but wanted to give families a chance to order shirts to support Autism Awareness. If you would like to order a shirt click here to go to the page. All families will be paying their own order however the shirts will ship to the district and we will get them to you once they get in. The orders close on March 10th to get the shirts here in time.

This is a reminder that cell phones and ear buds are not to be used at school during school hours. If they are out they will be taken. Reminder that all students are to be in school uniform at all times unless it is a dress down day or a campus approved alt dress day. High school students have assigned seats for lunch. Please remind your student to stay in their ssinged seat. Are next Friday night lights will be on Janaury 20th for any student that has earned afterschool detention.
