Columbia Central Homecoming is right around the corner. We invite all of our CUES families to join together in celebrating our school pride. There are several exciting activities planned for the week of October 1st-5th. Our CUES students and staff will participate in Spirit Week. The themed dress days are listed below:

Monday - Pajama Day

Tuesday - Class Color Day

• 3rd - Blue
• 4th - Red
• 5th - Green
• 6th - Black
• Office and others - Yellow
  

Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday

Thursday - Hat Day

Friday - Blue and Gold Day

On Friday, October 5th, we will hold a school-wide pep assembly at 10 am featuring the varsity cheerleaders and football team.

CES and CUES will be walking together in the parade. We invite all of our students to join us at 4:45 pm. If your child plans to participate in the parade, please meet Mrs. VanWagnen and our teachers in the football field parking lot behind CUES. All students will need a ride home following the parade. The parade begins at 5 pm.

The varsity football game will be held at 7 pm against Dundee. Please come out to cheer our Golden Eagles to a victory!

The first GIRLS ON THE M.O.V.E. session was held on Tuesday, and what an awesome afternoon it was! Our 5th and 6th grade girls were provided the opportunity to do a little Zumba and have a lot of fun, collaborate and connect with their peers and create a personal mission statement describing their purpose, something they like to do and include positive affirmations. We are so thankful for our volunteers, Suzanne Jones and Rosa Creech, for their commitment to this program and the positive development of our youth.

If you have a change in transportation, please send a note with your child to their homeroom teacher in the morning. Thank you!

Mrs. Gilsdorf is our new 5th Grade Teacher this year at CUES. She is a graduate of Siena Heights University. She loves to do creative writing and acting. Her favorite food is beef and noodles. We welcome Mrs. Gilsdorf to CUES!

No need to cook on October 3rd! The Columbia Elementary PTO has teamed up with Subway and a portion of the sales for this entire day will be donated to the PTO! Our two elementary Principals, Mrs. VanWagnen and Mrs. Wright, will be available to serve students between 4 and 6 pm, so stop on over and grab a bite. Thank you for your support!

Dayton Lasky was the winner of last week's "Caught You Being Great Award" from Mrs. VanWagnen! He was caught waiting patiently for Mrs. VanWagnen to dismiss him for recess. Great job, Dayton!
